...I am totally loving this black and white style, lemme tell ya. Not a great as the last one but I still had a lot of fun with it.

Anyway, went looking through Psyclon Nine's lyrics and I've come to the conclusion that they must be Vanboys in disguise. I mean, like half of their songs fit him perfectly, what's up with that? I think I might continue this black and white thing as a series; a picture for each Van song I can find from this group.

Watch me kill myself over this. :E

Behind a Serrated Grin
What you pray for, a maimed savior,
Bathed in rancor to punish their behavior
Your institution of persecution
One solution to start from a clean slate
He doesn't say that he will save us
Behind a serrated grin, he fails to hide his serrated grin

tophets_tool: [blah blah incest/slash wank] From now on, could no-one refer to any pairing as 'heterosexual'? It's very insensitive to those of us who have to live with the burden of being straight.

I haven't commented on Livejournal because I haven't been reading much due to dealing with certain issues - but since I ran onto this on deviantart instead I decided to comment.

After looking at this picture, I've dead what you put the most focus in your artwork and that is by far the hair. The hair itself is awesome since it looks like it's coming from the head and not just loose strands from no where, which a lot of people do wrong a lot of the time.

I'm rambling, sorry if I seem a bit of a geek. :(

The contrast is marvelous! The hair looks like it was carved (like when you use a tool to scratch a black surface that has a white base beneath it)--Goes along well with the theme of the piece. The hair looks serrated. The grin itself is a little too pleasant, but I'm at a loss as to how to suggest a workaround for anime style. Anime character's mouths are too happy. It's a failing of the style, not the piece.

The negative space on the left (the blackness) works well with the stark whiteness of the skin. Love the font you used for the words!

Psyclon Nine...didn't Master Van hire them to do his propaganda? :d I agree that the lyrics work so well with the character.

Another wonderful work! I'm so happy to see more art from you!

No worries. <3

And thank you. I LOVE doing the hair so I'm glad it came out well. x3

And I don't mind rambling at all. It can be really helpful at times.

The most I can say about the hair is that I had FUN with it. Quite glad it worked out. x3 As for the grin, I'd probably need to go look for some sort of sinister grin reference to see how it could be done in an anime style (since I'm sure there has to be SOME anime out there that pulled it off. >->;)

I'm starting to think that most of Psyclon Nine's songs were made in reference to Van. I only have 16 of their songs but at least 11 of those can fit Van is some way, shape or form. I think I'm going to end up doing a piece for each of those songs until I either get tired of Psyclon Nine or of the style. So expect more stuff like this soon. xD
